Shipping policy
All orders are processed within 0 to 10 business days (excluding weekends and holidays) after receiving your order confirmation email. You will receive another notification when your order has shipped. Most orders are processed within 2 working days but please remember Brick Caps is run by me (Sam), a real life human being. So occasionally it can take me a little while longer to get round to processing your order, although I always try to stay in touch when it's likely to be longer than a couple of days!
At the moment we are processing orders on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings. In general your order will be built and sent the next time we are in the workshop, so if you order on Tuesday evening it will usually be sent the following morning, but if you order on Friday afternoon it won't go in the post until the Monday.
Domestic Shipping Rates and Estimates
For calculated shipping rates: Shipping charges for your order will be calculated and displayed at checkout.
Two postage options are available for buyers within the UK. Royal Mail 2nd class post is available for £1.99 or free on orders over £19.00. This is an untracked service. You will receive a "despatched" notification when I put your order in the post, following that unfortunately I have no access to any other tracking information and have no way of answering queries about the progress of your parcel through the postal system.
Royal Mail 24 is available at a cost of £3.99. Royal Mail aim to deliver post sent by this service within 24 hours of receiving the order. This service includes a delivery confirmation but is not tracked. Please note this is not a next-day delivery option. Before going in the post your order needs to be built and packaged which usually takes me 1-2 days.
International Shipping
We offer international shipping worldwide. All international orders are sent by Royal Mail's "International Standard" service which is an untracked service. You will receive a "despatched" notification when I put your order in the post, following that unfortunately I have no access to any other tracking information.
Your order may be subject to import duties and taxes (including VAT), which are incurred once a shipment reaches your destination country. Brick Caps Ltd is not responsible for these charges if they are applied and are your responsibility as the customer.
How do I check the status of my order?
When your order has shipped, you will receive an email notification from us. You can also use the chat function on the website to get an update on your order, but as mentioned above, no tracking is available from the point your order goes in the post for standard UK orders and international orders. Sending via an untracked service helps me keep costs down and allows me to offer the lowest possible shipping prices for the UK and further afield.
If you haven’t received your order within 7 days (domestic) or 30 days (international) of receiving your shipping confirmation email, please contact us at orders@brickcaps.com with your name and order number, and we will look into it for you.
My order has not arrived, what happens now?
Domestic (UK) orders: Royal Mail are usually pretty speedy and it generally takes 2-3 days for orders to reach most parts of the UK after they go in the post. Sometimes this can be a little longer, 7-10 days, especially at particularly busy times of year. Royal Mail will not even consider investigating a missing package until 10 days after the expected delivery date. Therefore I cannot consider a package "lost" until 14 days after posting. If your order has not arrived after 14 days I will send out a replacement at that point.
International orders: International post is usually fairly speedy too, depending on which part of the world you live in. However this can be much more variable due to unpredictable customs checks and other factors outside of my control. Therefore I cannot consider a package "lost" until 30 days after posting. If your order has not arrived after 30 days I will send out a replacement at that point.
